Morning Snack Everyday - Proper eating affects a child’s overall performance during school. It provides children with the energy needed to complete the day. It also eliminates hunger symptoms such as headache, fatigue, sleepiness and restlessness. In addition, healthy eating helps children to think faster when doing school work and respond more clearly to teacher questions.
Each morning your child will be given the opportunity to have a snack. I am asking that you provide a small and healthy snack. Please avoid messy snacks in order to keep grease and smudges from getting on his/her class work.
Some healthy snack ideas are:
· String cheese
· Cut up fruit such as an apple, orange or grapes
· Yogurt with granola or fruit (remember to send a spoon!)
· Fruit Salad, Pretzels or crackers, Jell-O, Granola bars or fruit bars
· Raw vegetables (like baby carrots or celery )
